Connect Slack to Marcomm

Get instant alerts, send approval requests and the morning briefing in Slack, and approve or reject right there.

    Open your workspace in Marcomm and go to Settings → Integrations. Only workspace administrators can connect Slack.

    On the Slack card, select Connect and approve the Slack screen. The default install only lets Marcomm AI send direct messages.

    Marcomm now shows the card as Delivered by DM.

    In Slack, open the Marcomm AI app, go to the Home tab, select Link Marcomm AI account and confirm with Link. The approve and reject buttons work only for people who linked their account.

    Back in Marcomm, select Send a test message. It arrives as a direct message.

    To also post to a team channel, select Add channel alerts and choose the channel.

    Choose what each person receives under Account → Notifications, in the Slack column, for each workspace.

Each person links their own Slack user. An approval made in Slack is recorded under the Marcomm account that was linked.

By default Marcomm AI asks Slack only for permission to send direct messages. The permission to post in a channel is requested only when an administrator selects Add channel alerts.

Instant alerts, send approval requests with approve and reject buttons, and the morning briefing can be delivered to Slack. Slack receives only what a message shows, such as an article headline, a press release title or the details of an approval request.

Marcomm keeps the Slack bot token (encrypted), the channel webhook address if you add channel alerts, and the link between a Slack user and a Marcomm account. The token and webhook are deleted when you disconnect Slack or delete the workspace. The link is deleted when you disconnect, when the Marcomm account is deleted, or when the app is removed from Slack.

Nothing is sent to Slack until Slack is connected. Slack is a service you contract with directly, and Slack's own privacy policy applies to what it receives.

Who can connect Slack?
Workspace administrators. After that, every member can link their own Slack user.
Why can't I approve or reject in Slack?
Link your Slack user to your Marcomm account first. In Slack, open the Marcomm AI app, go to the Home tab and select Link Marcomm AI account. Without a link the buttons do nothing.
How do I stop the messages?
Turn off the Slack column under Account → Notifications for that workspace. To stop Slack delivery for the whole workspace, select Disconnect on the Slack card.
